Ready for Christmas markets!

I have spent a busy weekend getting ready for the Christmas markets next weekend at Aubeterre and Longeveau. Pin cushion teacups in all shapes and sizes, a great present idea! See you all there xxx

Vive La France!

We went out yesterday for a beautiful French meal, and reminded ourselves why we are so lucky to live in France. Xx

Autumn has arrived...

I opened the curtain this morning to this beautiful tree, Autumn is most definitely here!

Nature

Don't you just hate it when stick insects get in the way when you are photographing new stock for the shop? X

Birthday flowers

My lovely French neighbours came around with the most beautiful bunch of flowers from their garden, for my birthday.
Still in bloom the last week of September.

Anyone for coffee?

The latest addition to "My Vintage French House" store on Etsy, a lovely retro cafetiƩre collection.

Friday 28 August 2015

Cep season has arrived.

Paul (the pompier) came round with a huge box of ceps today. Looks like mushroom soup followed by mushrooms on toast! Bon appetite!

Monday 3 August 2015

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning.

We set of at just past 6am and spent a fab few hours truffling through 4 different vide greniers, eventually coming home with a car boot full of treasures. This was by far the prettiest village!

Ta Dah!!

A rainy day well spent, re-assembling an old Church chandelier, and attaching coloured crystals, and it is now hanging beautifully in my bedroom.
Stunning! Je suis contente!

My Vintage French House

My Etsy shop has finally been restocked.... a rainy day spent on the computer has resulted in this lovely selection of vintage French items!

Sunday 31 May 2015

Been busy brocanting again...

The weekends are now the busiest days of the week, with so many Brocantes it is hard to choose which ones to go to and which lovely treasures to buy!

Sunday 26 April 2015

6 Brocantes in one day!

So we set off in the dark, covered 250km and found a boot full of treasures along the way! We visited some beautiful vineyards around St Emilion, and even popped into an antiques fair just south of Bordeaux. So, the Brocante is now well stocked again for this season. Happy days!

Red Enamel

So, one of our elderly neighbours is moving, and down-sizing, so offered me their entire red enamelware collection, spots and all, how could I refuse?

Sunday 29 March 2015

King size!

Technically, nothing to do with Trouvailles & Trims, however this garlic could not go without a mention! Bought at a local farmer's market whilst truffling for Brocante on Sunday, I came across this king sized garlic, pictured next to a supermarket garlic bulb and a bottle of wine( purely for sense of scale you understand!) After 10 years of living in France, it still amazes me, the quality of the food that is so readily available! xx
